RA LAUNCHES PETITION DRIVE URGING PRESIDENT BUSH
TO NOMINATE ROY MOORE FOR THE U.S. SUPREME COURT 7/16/05

PHILADELPHIA - Repent America has launched a petition drive urging President Bush to nominate "Ten Commandments Judge" Roy Moore, former Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, to fill the vacancy left by Sandra Day O'Connor on the U.S. Supreme Court.
The petition drive is in cooperation with The Conservative Caucus' efforts, which call on President Bush to nominate Roy Moore to the vacancy because he has demonstrated his understanding of and fidelity to the U.S. Constitution.

"'Ten Commandments Judge' Roy Moore is a God-fearing man of deep conviction and integrity who deserves the nomination because he recognizes that law comes from God, and has proven his commitment to restoring the moral foundation of law in America," stated Repent America director Michael Marcavage. "President Bush should not hesitate in announcing Roy Moore as his nomination for the U.S. Supreme Court, and the church should be loudly calling on the president to choose the former Chief Justice," Marcavage continued.

Roy Moore is a faithful servant of Christ, a dedicated father and husband, a highly respected Constitutional scholar, a West Point graduate, a decorated Vietnam veteran, and was elected to the office of Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court by an overwhelming popular majority.

"The U.S. Supreme Court has consistently been unfaithful to the plain text of the U.S. Constitution, and needs Justices who will defend the right of the people to publicly acknowledge God, affirm that children in the womb deserve the same legal protection the rest of us enjoy, oppose the homosexual agenda, and protect private property rights," Marcavage stated. "It is without question that Roy Moore, having a correct and clear understanding of law and government, meets these standards and would be the best nominee for the high court," Marcavage concluded.
